Those Shoes Don't Fit
Wasted On The Young
Folsom Prison Blues
The Ducatos - 2012
This song started with an observation about the way outrage is manufactured, marketed and rewarded. The challenge wasn’t finding something to say. It was finding a way to say it without preaching.
The result was a song that explores how easily people can end up wearing ideas that don’t really fit them.
Like most people, I still feel about 21 in my head until I catch my reflection in a shop window.
This song began as a reflection on getting older and realising that youth isn’t always wasted on the young. Sometimes it takes a few miles on the clock to understand what’s really important.
Developed in The Tone Hut and released as a Giant Head Collective single.
Recorded in the original Tone Hut in 2012.
This live-feeling take on the Johnny Cash classic was captured with the band performing together in the room, with only minimal overdubs added later. It’s a snapshot of a different era of recording and an early example of the music that was being created in the Tone Hut over a decade ago.
